Take the first ever survey for both Haredim and former Haredim.
Nishma Research, in partnership with Shtetl News, is conducting a study to gain insight into current trends among Haredi and formerly Haredi community members.
Your participation is vital, as it can help inform policy, philanthropy, and programming.
In recent years, much has changed both inside and outside the Haredi world. We want to understand the changing needs of the Haredi and formerly Haredi communities so as to better be able to address those needs. We want to understand how you identify religiously, and how you express your identity in practice. We want to understand to what extent your religious views align with your family’s, and how your family relates to you. And we want to understand how October 7 has impacted you and where you have found support since that time.
This survey is the first of its kind to study the experiences of Haredim and former Haredim side by side to understand not only their individual experiences but also how they relate to each other. Therefore, we would like to ask you to take the time to fill out this survey, and in addition to answering the multiple choice questions, we strongly encourage you to elaborate where possible in paragraph form.
This study is being produced in partnership between Nishma Research and Shtetl. Both organizations will receive the responses and will keep individual responses highly confidential. Reports and news stories based on the findings will be published without identifying information. Data from this survey, without any identifying information, will be shared with other entities who may choose to utilize it for purposes of better serving this community, such as designing programs based on the needs identified in the responses.
Whether you now consider yourself Haredi or OTD, Orthodox or ex-Orthodox, traditional or just plain Jewish (or even none of the above, we want to know that too!), you have unique insights, experiences, and needs both on a personal and a communal level that we want to learn about.
